Collection: The Lightness of Being a Leaf

A core theme of my photography is the unity of nature. In this collection I wanted to explore whether photography can visualise the unseen energy that connects flora and fauna.

I start with the idea that everything is made of the same atoms. I try to look past the surface beauty of nature to capture the pure energy beneath - with varying degrees of abstraction - presenting my images as a form of visual research.

This leads me to consider concepts like quantum entanglement, which posits that we are all fundamentally connected and that nature's information is shared. My work chases such unseen and unseeable phenomena.

Is it possible to photograph the process of photosynthesis?

Can I show the sun's light being transferred into a leaf?

Can a photograph truly express the essential lightness of being a leaf?
