Collection: The Self in Botanical Form

This collection is a close study of the Split Leaf Philodendron, a large and leafy South American plant that has captivated my attention and photographs like a hero!

These images abstract the botanical form, allowing the viewer to focus entirely on the luminous, branching network of veins. This intricate topography immediately recalls the circulatory systems in our own bodies or the unique ridges of a fingerprint.

By drawing this parallel between the macro-structure of the plant and the micro-structure of the body, the work suggests an inherent, shared biological pattern—a powerful reminder that we, too, are simply a part of nature’s grand design.
